Hey there! You’re reading the Walking the Narrow Path newsletter. We’re Fernie and Efrain, and our mission is simple: to host real conversations that practically apply scripture to the daily grind.

Whether it’s Fernie drawing on his background as a U.S. Army veteran or Efrain offering his co-host reflections from his time as a Hospice Chaplain, we are here to walk this journey with you—one step at a time

FROM THE HEART OF THE JOURNEY

(The Dialogue Corner)

  • Fernie’s Take: "To me, this is about strategic positioning. If God opened it, I don't need to 'hustle' to keep it from closing."

  • Efrain’s Reflection: "I see this as a call to peace. If nobody can shut it, I can stop looking over my shoulder at the competition and just walk through with confidence."

Greetings from the winding trail.

Welcome to the latest edition of our curated journal. Efrain and I (Fernie) are so glad you're here. In our latest conversations, we've been digging into why God often prioritizes character over comfort.

While I (Fernie) often look at this through the lens of strategic preparation—much like my time in the Army—Efrain brings a vital perspective on the spiritual endurance required to wait on God's timing. Together, we’re exploring how these 'suddenly' moments are engineered steadily in the background

The Hinges of Opportunity

Feature Story

The Battle You Weren't Meant to Fight:

In my journal from June 24, I wrote about a realization that changed my perspective: When the battle chooses you, and the battle is too big, it is not yours to fight. Whether it’s financial pressure, career uncertainty, or emotional weight, I have learned that some doors only open when you stop trying to kick them down and instead hand the battle back to God. Trusting His timing isn't passive; it's a strategic move.

The Compass Check

Are you walking in the right direction

In land navigation, a compass check isn't a sign of weakness; it’s a sign of wisdom. It’s the moment you pause to ensure your current azimuth matches your intended destination. Efrain and I know how easy it is to let your mind "scramble your perspective" when life gets loud.

This week, we’re challenging you to stop trying to force open the "Closed Doors" behind you. Instead, look at the "God's Path" sign in front of you. Are you walking toward what He has promised, or are you still looking back at what He has already moved you away from?
